Rector Federal Polytechnic Nekede to Chair 2025 Imo ASCPN Empowerment Series

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, Dr. Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, has been announced as the Chairperson of the 2025 Imo State Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ASCPN) Empowerment Series.

The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 21st August 2025, at the new Imo State Press Centre, Port Harcourt Road, beside CPC Building, New Owerri.

According to a press release signed by the Imo State Secretary of ASCPN, Mr. Peter Dibia, the series will feature renowned intellectuals and policy experts as keynote speakers.

They include, Prof. Obiaraeri Nnamdi, Professor of Law and former Commissioner for Information, Imo State, and Dr. Ify Onyegbule, Director General of Imo State Broadcasting Corporation and a respected public policy expert.

In addition to the keynote sessions, the event will also feature an award presentation to deserving personalities, both in the field of education and among professionals in the communication industry, in recognition of their outstanding contributions and impact.

According to the release, the state Coordinator of ASCPN in Imo State, Dr. Mrs. Adeline Nkwam-Uwaoma, together with other members of the association, is working hand in glove to ensure that this year’s Empowerment Series will be the best of its kind in the history of the programme.

She further called on all and sundry to attend the event, affirming that it will be of immense benefit to scholars, professionals, and students in the field of communication.

The Empowerment Series is designed to serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, intellectual engagement, and professional empowerment.

Members of the association, students, media practitioners, policy makers, and the general public are warmly invited to attend and participate actively in this year’s programme.

The statement further encouraged interested participants to seize the opportunity, noting that the conference promises to be an avenue for robust discourse, professional networking, and recognition of excellence.
