The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman has extended his warm felicitations to all Muslim faithful in the State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2025 Eid el-Kabir celebration.

Alhaji Usman, in his Eid el-Kabir message, congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Hajj pilgrimage and the commencement of the Eid el-Kabir festivities.

The SSG emphasized that this sacred period provides an opportunity for reflection, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to the values of compassion, unity, and service to humanity.

“The celebration of Eid el-Kabir reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and obedience to Allah’s command. This spirit of sacrifice should inspire us all to make meaningful contributions toward the development of our dear State and nation,” Alhaji Usman stated.

He urged citizens to use the festive period to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths and ethnic backgrounds, stressing that Niger State’s diversity remains one of its greatest strengths and called on all residents to continue fostering harmony and mutual respect.

According to the SSG, “As we celebrate this joyous occasion, let us remember those less privileged in our communities. The essence of Eid el-Kabir lies not only in our personal celebrations but also in extending kindness and support to the needy”.

Alhaji Usman also commended the security agencies for their dedication to maintaining peace and order during the festive period while assuring citizens that the State Government remains committed to ensuring their safety and security.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of all citizens regardless of religious, political or ethnic affiliation.

The SSG called on religious leaders to continue preaching messages of peace, unity and tolerance, while encouraging the youth to shun all forms of violence and engage in productive activities that will contribute to societal development.
