The Kebbi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Nuradeen Bala Fingilla has said that the celebration of this year’s 1st October would be celebrated in a low-key manner.

He disclosed this on Tuesday while addressing a press conference in Birnin Kebbi in commemoration of the 60th anniversary.

Bala Fingilla said: “The only activity that will be showcase is the matching outfits from Haliru Abdu Stadium to Government House.

“The youth of Kebbi State will organise a solidarity movement match to Government House to commemorate the Independence Day and appreciate the Governor for the good work he has been doing to the people of Kebbi State.”

The commissioner then warmed those planning to hijack the movement that anyone found distracting the peace would face the wrath of the law, insisting that such individuals would be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others.

While congratulating the people of Kebbi State for achieving yet, another independence day, the commissioner urged them to continue to support the present administration under the able leadership of Comrade Dr Nasir Idris to enable him bring more significant changes to the state.
