Anambra South Senatorial by-election: Why APGA stands chance of winning -Udechukwu

The Commissioner for Industry in Anambra State, Hon. Christian Udechukwu has given reasons the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) would win the Anambra South Senatorial by-election.
Hon. Christian Udechukwu while supervising the by-election in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Saturday, 16 August, 2025 said they are government of the people, for the people and by the people.
He further said they have done so much in such a very short time, adding that the people are aware of what they have done and they are very happy with them.
He disclosed that the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo has won numerous recognition for been the most advanced in investments and infrastructure.
“Prof Charles Soludo has offered free education from Kindergarten to seniors secondary schools, free medical care for nursing mothers and their babies, which over hundred and thirty families have benefited from it, over eight hundred and fifty kilometers roads have been commissioned and six hundred built so far. As I am talking to you now road construction is still ongoing.
“We have shared out two million palm oil seedlings, five hundred thousand seedlings of coconut to over one hundred and fifty thousand families.
“We have trained over thirteen thousand youths in One Youth Two Skills,trained over sixty thousand in ICT skills, so we are Government of great impact” he stated.
Hon. Udechukwu noted that on this by-election day, the general public should expect bumper votes that would be cast for APGA.
“Seen the enthusiasm and energy of the people everywhere we visited, convinced me that our people are very wise.They know that they cannot trade their future for anyone who is trying to buy their votes” he added.
Reacting to APGA buying votes,the Commissioner denied it.
“Why would we do that, when we are winning?. What is the opposition offering to others? What is any other political party offering to the people?
How are they impacting the lives of the people? What is it they are offering that make them the alternative? What is the vision of the political party?” he asked.
He disclosed that Nnewi is a town of wise people and not for sale,adding that their future would never be traded.
Speaking on the alleged report that quoted Mr Governor saying that Nnewi people do not pay taxes,Hon.christian Udechukwu citing all Mr Governor has done for the past three years, expressed that all the money they have spent is just 64% of one year’s budget in the last 30 years.
He categorically stated that they remained number one in physical and prudent financial management.
He explained that when Mr. Governor spoke about taxes,he was trying to sensitize the people of Anambra State that all the good works they are doing is public funds.
“If the Governor said Nnewi needs to pay more tax, or pay tax more efficiently, there’s nothing wrong in that giving the number of factories and the businesses in the area.Nnewi is the Japan of Africa and Economic Hub for Nigeria.We are doing more.The Governor is saying pay more so that we can do more” he explained.
Speaking on security, he said Anambra State remained one of the safest states in Nigeria.
He added that all the communities in Anambra State have now known the security law, stating that the reason some of the security challenges had lingered in the State was because some of the people causing the problem are domestic as the Governor has said repeatedly.
“Some battles are difficult to fight while some are easy. It is difficult sometimes when the community that is in trouble is also part of the same conspiracy” he disclosed.
