President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to building infrastructure that serves the people and unlocks economic potential. While commissioning the newly constructed right-hand service carriageway of the Inner Northern Expressway (INEX) in Abuja, he emphasized that this project reflects his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to a press statement from Rabi Musa Umar, the Assistant Director Press Office of the FCT Minister on Tuesday, the President described the road as a symbol of progress and a critical piece of the Federal Capital Territory’s master plan, designed to ease traffic flow and enhance connectivity. This project is part of the administration’s broader infrastructure development initiatives, which include several major road construction projects and public-private partnerships.

Some of the notable projects underway include the: Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Dual Carriageway, a 164-kilometer project worth N740.79 billion, expected to be completed by 2026; Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a project divided into two phases, with a projected completion date of May 2026; and Sokoto-Badagry Highway, a 1,068-kilometer highway linking Nigeria’s western and northern regions, featuring a six-lane highway with a rail line in its median.

These infrastructure projects aim to enhance connectivity, facilitate trade, reduce transportation costs, and improve market access. By investing in infrastructure, the Tinubu administration seeks to stimulate economic growth, improve the quality of life for Nigerians, and create a more competitive and attractive business environment.
