Uber/Bolt Driver Goes Into Hiding After Same-Sex Allegation Sparks Family Tragedy in Magboro, Ogun State

Ajoloko Kolawole Julius, a young Uba/Bolt driver and former cultural theater actor, has reportedly fled Magboro community after being accused of engaging in a same-sex relationship, an allegation that has shaken his family, that led to the death of his father, and drawn the peace of community leaders.
Sources revealed that Julius had maintained a close friendship with Ogidi Lawrence, from their days in hostel in Ogbomosho. The pair were inseparable, with many praising them as the best performers in their group. Their friendship, however, reportedly turned into a romantic affair, with claims that they became involved in same-sex intercourse.
Julius’ life took a different turn when he started working as a Bolt and Uber driver where he began dating another young guy, Jegede Ajibola.
After years of relationship with Jegede Ajibola, On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025, Julius introduced Ajibola as his gayfriend during an outing, an encounter that also reunited him with his old partner, Lawrence.
Witnesses say tensions flared that night when Lawrence warned Julius against engaging in sexual relationships with Ajibola, alleging it would damage their secret partnership. Julius reportedly tried to calm the situation by explaining that his relationship with Ajibola was as a result of long distance between him and Lawrence, Lawrence strongly opposed this excuse. In a heated exchange of words, Lawrence allegedly threatened to expose Julius if he continued dating Ajibola and Julius maintained his stand that he can’t leave Ajibola because they have gone too far.
The fallout has devastated his family. His father, a respected pastor in the community, suffered a heart attack upon hearing his son’s involvement in homosexuality and was rushed to the state hospital shortly after he was confirmed dead. Julius’ sisters have also turned against him, describing the incident as a stain on the family’s reputation.
Magboro Community elders, describing the act as a cultural taboo, they invited the law enforcement agencies in the search for Julius. They insist he must be made to face the consequences for what they call “an abominable act” that violates the Magboro community’s traditions and brought shame to a pastor’s household.
As of the time of filing this report, Julius’ whereabouts remain unknown.
