Insecurity/ High Profile Assasination Attempts; Obasi Ndukwe Omokorie in hiding, seeking for protection
Obasi Ndukwo Omokorie, 47 Years old man of Number 3 glass industry, 7 up Ogbohill Aba, Abia State, Joined his community’s local vigilante group in July, 2023 tasked with providing security for people and protection of his community; but could not envisage that soon it will endanger their entire existence, homes, lives and properties, of vigilante group members. lt has been reported that many residents, including those of Obasi Ndukwo Omokorie had fled the area to seek asylum elsewhere for fear of being killed.
Obasl Ndukwo Omokorie, exposed nefarious activities of various security agencies, and cult groups. As a result, they came looking for him; His father’s house was attacked, but he managed to escape and they are still searching for him as unknown gun men to deal with him. He and three other members/age grade.
He had denounced his membership of the vigilante groups and secret cult thinking that the action will save him, little did he know that he has opened a more dangerous avenue as they now see him as a saboteur passing information to police and military about the activities of his former groups.
His situation became worse on 4th of December 2023, when unknown gun men that had links in all the states in Nigeria started looking for him.
He was lucky to have survived three assassination attempts and his two other colleagues killed; before he finally escaped out of the country through the help of his Brother who sold a parcel of land to pay for his escape out of Nigeria, due to several assassination attempts on his life and serious threats, leaving behind his wife and four children.
Authority or country that may have him in their custody should please ensure his safety and grant Him protection as his return to Nigeria will end his life abruptly as He will certainly face persecution and Death upon return to Nigeria.
