Russia sent a strong warning to Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of their international friendly on Tuesday after thrashing Namibia 6-0 on Saturday.
The Russian national team, which has been excluded from major international competitions and qualifiers since 2022 following sanctions, has relied on unofficial friendly matches to maintain its competitive rhythm.
Namibia came under early pressure, with goalkeeper Kamaijanda Ndisiro making a sharp save to deny Danil Prutsev’s long-range effort.
However, the Brave Warriors were eventually beaten 10 minutes before half-time when a quick onetouch passing move around the edge of the penalty area created an opening for Lechi Sadulaev, who fired into the bottom corner.
