Bichi LG urges residents to participate in ongoing voter registration

Bichi Local Government Council has called on residents of the area to fully participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise being conducted across the state.
In a statement issued by the Information Officer of the local government, Jamila Abdullahi Rijiyar Lemo, the Secretary of the council, Hon. Anas Muhammad Abdullahi, made the appeal on behalf of the Chairman of Bichi Local Government, Alhaji Hamza Sule Mai Fata, during an engagement at the council secretariat.
Hon. Abdullahi emphasized that voter registration is a civic duty incumbent upon every responsible citizen, as it empowers them to elect leaders who will govern with truth and justice.
He cautioned that without voter’s cards, there is a risk of unqualified individuals assuming positions of leadership.
He further explained that with the commencement of the registration exercise across Kano State, the Chairman of Bichi Local Government has taken proactive measures to ensure the exercise succeeds.
Beyond voting, he noted, voter registration also serves other civic needs of citizens. He wmphasized that the council chairman is always committed to supporting all initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people of the area without bias.
Similarly, the District Head of Bichi, Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Mannir Sanusi, represented by his secretary, Malam Idris Shitu Malikawa, urged residents to give their full cooperation to the exercise.
In addition, the voter registration officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bichi, Badamasi Sani, speaking on behalf of the Local Government Electoral Officer, Hajiya Fatima, provided an update on the progress of the exercise in the area.
