Intending pilgrims from Niger to deposits N8.5Mllion for 2026 Hajj fare as NAHCON allocates 5156 seats

Intending pilgrims from Niger State have been directed to make a deposits of N8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj fare.

The state Pilgrims Welfare Board has sets N8.5 million as deposit for the 2026/1447 Hajj Fare following the recent pronouncement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) pegging the 8.5 million as the minimum deposit.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, stated this during a crucial meeting in Board, that 5,156 seats were allocated to the State by NAHCON.

He noted that every intending pilgrim must possess an E-passport prior to the payment, to help in streamlining the new E- transactions registration system of the Board.

He further noted that the E-passport number would be used as the narration of the payment, having the intending pilgrim teller as the evidence of the payment which would be presented to the various Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers (APWO’s).

According to the Executive Secretary, the payment would be made through Taj Bank and other designated banks.

Sheikh Mohammad Awwal Aliyu maintained that the Board would thoroughly evaluate the health status of every intending Pilgrim in order to determine the eligibility of the intending Pilgrims right from the local government level to the state level.

The Board would also provide detailed guidelines and support to assist intending pilgrims throughout the payment process and beyond, ensuring that every intending pilgrim embark on the spiritual journey is well- informed and educated.

The Board also made it clear to let every intending pilgrims note that the Board does not accept less than N8.5 Million as Deposit
