Osun: Olufon celebrates 2025 Odun Ade Festival with novelty football march in grand style
...It's a celebration of Peace, Love and Unity in the Community –Baale Alabata, Ifon Orolu
As part of the Five days events marking the year 2025 ODUN ADE FESTIVAL in Ifon Osun, Orolu in Osun State, the Novelty Football match was organized by the Planning Committee of this year program. An Unbelievable but real Novelty football match between the Community Baales, (Baales Team) and OLUFON High Chiefs (High Chiefs Team) was not only entertaining but brought together who is who within the community including Women, Youth and Elderly people.
The event was personally witnessed by His Royal Majesty Oba Peter Oluwole Ademola Ilufemiloye, the Akinyooye lll. Others dignitaries that raced the occasion were High Chief Eesa of Ifon, the Baba KEKERE of Ifon who doubled as the Chairman Planning Committee, Chief Mrs AFOLABI Lamlat, the Iyalode of Ifon, Chief Mrs Olatoye Fatimo Modupeola, the Iyaloja General, Ifon Orolu, Prince Akinyooye Olukunle Micheal and host of others.
In his address during the event, HRM Oba Peter Oluwole espressed his happiness and thank all the Sons and Daughters of Ifon Osun Orolu for their support towards the peaceful co-existence withing the community. His Majesty promised to be more attentive and committed to the progress and development of the town. The OLUFON of Ifon Osun Orolu pointed out that, good things has started happening in Ifon Osun and it will continuing like that. His Majesty called on the People home and Abroad to come home and development the town. “Pls l called on our people to come home for the progress and development of our town. Home is home”
Speaking to Journalist during the occasion, the Iyaloja General Ifon Osun, Chief Mrs Olatoye Fatimo Modupeola said, this year Odun ADE FESTIVAL is a unique one, and the town has never witness such before. She also used the occasion to pray for Kabiyesi, the OLUFON for long life.
In her own part the Iyalode of Ifon Osun Orolu Chief Mrs AFOLABI Lamlat Praised the organiser for a well organized event of that nature and prayed that God will continue to be with the entire town.
The two Captains of the football teams Chief Fatai Muideen, the Baale Alabata Ifon Osun of the al Baale’s Team and High Chief Engr Oyewole Said Olawale, the Asade of Ifon Osun, were very happy to be part of the Novelty Football match, added that all is entertainment and is also for the Unity of the town. Both of them appreciated His Royal Majesty for counting them worth of the football teams. The novelty match was ended by 1- 0 where OLUFON High Chiefs Football Team carry the day.
Reiterated further, Prince Akinyooye Olukunle Micheal, the event was never before event and said kudos to the Kabiyesi OLUFON for his willingness, readiness and his efforts in making sure his kingdom becomes Mecca of our time. Said ” Kabiyesi is determined to make Ifon Osun one of the best town in Osun if not the best”
Earlier in the day during the Church Sunday service at First Baptist Church Ifon Osun, Rev’d Ezekiel Abayomi Ilufoye, said Unity, Peace and love is of the Lord, and also extolled the Virtues of HRM Oba OLUFON of Ifon Osun for his developmental a gender since he was installed as King. Stressed further that HRM Oba Peter Oluwole love worshipping God and he is also a giver. Reverend Ezekiel called on the People of Ifon to join hands with Kabiyesi for the progress of the town. He said, “Kabiyesi is a peace lover and kind of the People”. He affirmed.
