Gov Bago lampoons works engineers, consultants, contractors for sharp practices

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has uncovered sharp practices from the Ministry of Works Engineers, Consultants, as well as contractors handling various construction projects in the state.
Governor Bago stated this in an interface with the contractors handling various projects in the state, declaring that he personally stopped payment of their Contract Verification (CV) because of sharp practices, just as he expressed disappointment about their performances.
He expressed disappointment over the pace of work and said it’s a shame when some contractors have five kilometers and have delivered one hundred percent while some are still battling with drainages.
The governor, however, revoked the consultants of the Ministry of Work and New Niger development projects for their lackadaisical attitude for not reporting the right thing based on the ongoing projects across the state.
He revealed that they have so much money tiled down in the pages, adding that for all contractors who have In pages and have already mobilized to the site through the In pages, the money will be available for them to work.
Bago maintained that he will only approve the payment for those he thinks have the capacity to deliver and will continue to get payment, alleging connivance with contractors
He urged contractors to report to the consultants that the Ministry of Work is not enough for him to approve funds; however, advised them to put in their energy and effort In finishing their drain, Hydronics, and earthwork as stipulated.
