A renewal communal clash has resulted in the death of one person during a land dispute that erupted between Gaba and Kashi- Koko villages in Lavun local government area of Niger state
The incident showed its ugly face last Saturday as the land dispute has lingered over many years of crisis between the two communities, which led to violence as it is still ongoing.
However, it was gathered that the land crisis between the two communities has existed for quite a while without being resolved.
The latest development led to the death of one young man who was killed and many others have sustained various degrees of injuries.
A community source told journalists in Minna that the violence is ongoing and called on the Niger state governor Mohammed Umar Bago, the Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, and the security operatives to urgently intervene to avert the reoccurrence.
He stressed the need to end the crisis to restore peace and tranquility in the area to enhance the development of the community.
It could be recalled that in 2018, there was a land dispute between Anfani and Gaba, leading to the death of many, several others injured, and houses and properties destroyed.
No official statement was issued by the state government or Niger State police command as of the time of filing the report.
