Ex-Imo Deputy Gov, Madumere insists on Youth mentorship, empowerment

The former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and mentorship to positively impact the socio-economic development of the nation.
Delivering a lecture at the 4th Edition of the Prof. Uzoma Foundation For Justice and Equity Lecture Series, Madumere advocated for youth-inclusive governance and championing youth skills acquisition.
Prince Madumere stressed the need for educational reform, suggesting that Nigerian schools teach coding, artificial intelligence, robotics, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking, in addition to theory
He also highlighted the importance of skills over certificates, emphasizing vocational and technical training as essential for youth development.
The former Deputy Governor noted that youth development is both a national investment and moral responsibility, urging the creation of youth-friendly financial systems through grants, micro-loans, and public-private investment.
He also emphasized the need for youth representation in decision-making bodies, such as cabinets and assemblies.
Madumere acknowledged the challenges facing Nigerian youths, including unemployment and brain drain, while celebrating their success stories in technology, arts, and business.
The former deputy governor urged Nigerian youths to take action, learn, and lead the desired change, pledging his support for youth-driven initiatives and strategic planning.
