Bandits abduct 16, two escape in Kaduna village attack

Chaos as bandits launched an overnight raid and kidnapped 16 villagers in Mararraba Mazuga village, located in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack took place between 11 p.m. and midnight, causing panic and confusion in the community.

According to Wayas Musa, a resident, two of the victims managed to escape, while seven others were released by the kidnappers with instructions to raise ransom money for the remaining hostages.

One of those freed, Na’omi Kayit, revealed that her two daughters are still in captivity. One daughter is a student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, while the other, on a scholarship in Togo, was home on break.

At the time of reporting, the kidnappers had not yet contacted the families of the victims to demand ransom.

Attempts to reach the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Munsir Hassan, for a statement were unsuccessful, as he was unavailable for comment.
