The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Hon. Sylvester Aigboboh, has urged voters across the 18 local government areas of the state to turn out in large numbers for Saturday’s chairmanship and councillorship elections.
Aigboboh, in a statement on Friday, described the poll as an opportunity for the people to reaffirm their confidence in the APC and the developmental agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration.
He appealed to APC members, supporters and the electorate to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the election, while exercising their civic responsibilities by voting for all APC candidates.
According to him, every vote cast for the APC represents a vote for grassroots development, good governance and the continued progress of Edo State.
Aigboboh, who is also the Edo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said overwhelming support for the APC would further demonstrate the confidence of the people in Governor Okpebholo’s leadership and his administration’s ongoing development efforts across the state.
He expressed optimism that a decisive victory for the ruling party in the council poll would strengthen the APC ahead of future electoral contests, including its target of mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda in the 2027 general election.
He said: “Let us come out in large numbers and prove our commitment to the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda. Let us demonstrate our love for our hardworking Governor and our great President through our votes. Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more united and more prosperous Edo State.”
The APC deputy chairman expressed confidence in the loyalty and commitment of party faithful across the state, urging them to remain united and mobilise support for all APC chairmanship and councillorship candidates.
He added that the party’s candidates had pledged to align with Governor Okpebholo’s development agenda to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every ward and community in the state.
Aigboboh also urged party members and supporters to uphold the spirit of peace, unity and togetherness throughout the electoral process, saying collective support for APC candidates would guarantee sustained development and inclusive governance across Edo State.
