Nnewi Solution Stakeholders, led by a well-respected Nnewi-born entrepreneur, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, the CEO of Gabros International, held their second meeting at the residence of their convener at Uru, Umudim, Nnewi, in continuation of their efforts to restore peace and equity in the community.
During the meeting on Sunday, May 3, 2026, which witnessed the Presence of over 600 Nnewi people from the four quarters of Otolo, Umudim, Uruagu, and Nnewichi, the convener, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, in his opening remarks, expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders who attended the meeting.
He highlighted that the meeting was to ensure that the 1997 Rotational Agreement in Nnewi is respected, Igwe’s stand is maintained, non-indigenes are accommodated without any form of injustice, victimisation, and intimidation in Nnewi are put to an end, and everybody would be treated fairly.
He insisted that a candidate from Nnewichi must succeed the current Mayor, Hon.Echezona Anazodo, who allegedly insists on continuing for a second tenure.
Reacting to the points listed by the convener, Chief Eugene Nwizugbe (Anyanwu Igbo) charged the people present not to be afraid of anybody while fighting for peace, justice, equity, and fairness in their community.
He emphasized that Nnewi is not complete without non-indigenes, urging them to stand firm in their quest to get it right.
Prof. Obi Nwosu, while speaking, said non-indigenes in Nnewi should be allowed to do their lawful businesses freely, noting that their people are also living in other parts of the country and would not be treated unfairly.
Hon Augustine Ike, Member Representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly, said whatever Igwe says is law and must be respected.
He further added that they stand on what Igwe said, and the meeting remained lawful.
Others who spoke during the meeting were Chief Emmanuel Nsoedo, Hon. George Nwachukwu, and Prince Nonso Obi, among others.
