The Kano State House of Assembly has suspended Chairmen of three local Governments councils namely Alh Abubakar Mustapha Rogo from Rogo local Government, Dr, Alhassan Salisu from Bebeji local Government and Alh Bello Gadanya from Bagwai local Government respectfully. 

This was contained in a released by speaker’s Spokeperson, kamaluddeen Sani Shawai on Tuesday. 

The decision of Kano State House of Assembly followed the adoption of the House committee on local Government and chieftency Affairs.

Lawan Hussain Dala, the majority leader, and on behalf of the committee chairman said the House received separate petitions submitted by the people of the area councils. 

The petitions contained alleged financial misappropriation, abuse of office, breach of public trust and other administrative irregularities among others. 

Furthermore, the committee highlighted some relevant documents and reviewed records obtained from affected Local Government councils while having interactive sessions with members of the respective Local Government before taking the final decisions. 

The recommendation was made pursuant to section 128 and 129 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as (amended), which gives the state legislative body power to conduct investigations and oversight functions effectively. 

However, the House adopted the committee s recommendation and gave further directive to communicate to its resolution to the ministry of local Government and chieftency Affairs for immediate actions to be taken.

  The vice Chairmen are to take over the affairs of their local Government  activities as soon as possible pending the outcome of the final resolution from the House committee of Kano State House of Assembly on local Government and chieftency Affairs.
