Pedro Neto rewrites FA Cup history with record-breaking hat-trick

Chelsea winger etched his name into FA Cup folklore with a stunning hat-trick in a 4-0 demolition of Hull City.

Neto’s treble, alongside a goal from Estêvão Willian, powered Chelsea into the Round of 16.

According to OptaJoe, Neto became the first Chelsea player since George Hilsdon in 1909 to score a Friday hat-trick in the competition.

Even more remarkably, it marked the first hat-trick by a top-flight player on Friday the 13th.

The Portugal international has flourished since his 2024 move from Wolves.

The 25-year-old now looks set to spearhead Chelsea’s domestic ambitions heading into their next league clash.
