Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State command has intercepted a truck loaded with telecommunication mast worth millions of naira and a Sharon vehicle carrying mining products.
The State Commandant, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye disclosed this while parading the suspects at the state headquarters of the command in Minna.
He said that the NSCDC anti-vandal team was deployed to arrest two suspects along Tafa-Suleja axis following an intelligence information apprehended the vehicle and the suspects Mustapha Aliyu and Abubakar Safyanu who were charged to court for prosecution.
In same vein, the command has arrested a mining team of seven suspects all male who were involved in illegal mining activities at Kataeregi along Bida road with a Sharon vehicle carrying the products.
The arrested mining Marshal Mahmoud Idris from Zuzungi in Katcha local government in an interview confirmed that he is yet to obtain license but into hiring of labourers and selling of Zico mineral to the dealers before his arrest.
The commandant vowed to make Niger state uncomfortable for vandals, illegal miners and other criminals, assuring to work closely with other security agencies to ensure a crime free society.
He reassured the commitment of the command to protecting the State’s assets and infrastructure as well applauded the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi and Niger state governor Mohammed Umar Bago for their unflinching support to the command.
