National workshop to chart new course for Entrepreneurial Education in Nigeria

By: Goodluck E. Adubazi, Abuja.

In a significant step toward addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges and fostering sustainable growth, Allied Bond Consulting, in collaboration with PIFS Conferences, is set to host a national workshop on “Creating a New Model for Dynamic Growth through Entrepreneurial Education.” The high-level event will take place from August 13 to 14, 2025, at the NUC Conference Hall in Maitama, Abuja.

The workshop is part of a broader national initiative to reposition entrepreneurship education as a catalyst for innovation, employment, and economic development. With youth unemployment and economic dependency on traditional sectors continuing to hamper national progress, stakeholders are converging to reimagine Nigeria’s approach to enterprise education.

Expert Participation and Key Themes

Among the distinguished professionals invited to shape the conversation is Ven. Dr. Rex E. Ufomba of Spiritan University, Nneochi, Abia State. He is expected to serve as a resource person, delivering presentations and leading discussions on strategic topics such as:

Assessment of Existing Entrepreneurship Programmes in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions
Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks for Entrepreneurial Outcomes
Creating Sustainable Business Incubation Ecosystems in Tertiary Institutions

Organisers have announced that all invited speakers will be supported with full logistics, hotel accommodation, and honorarium.

Workshop Goals and Structure

According to Allied Bond Consulting, the workshop will bring together directors of academic planning, entrepreneurship centre coordinators, industry stakeholders, government policymakers, and development partners to address gaps in curriculum design, institutional capacity, and policy direction.

The event seeks to:

Develop a sustainable framework for entrepreneurial education in Nigeria
Promote experiential learning and practical business skills
Strengthen academia-industry-government partnerships
Provide actionable policy recommendations for national adoption

The sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with the official opening ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. on August 13.

A Call for Transformation

Organisers emphasize that the workshop aims to move beyond theory by crafting tangible solutions to integrate entrepreneurship more effectively into the tertiary education system. The outcomes are expected to inform curriculum reforms and inspire institutions across the country to take a more dynamic role in shaping job creators rather than job seekers.

This event signals a renewed commitment to education-driven economic transformation and is expected to set the tone for national policy shifts in the years ahead.
