Unity in Diversity: Bamdek High School marks 2025 end-of-year celebration with cultural flair

It was a joyful and colourful occasion on Thursday as management, staff, pupils, and parents of BAMDEK Nursery and Primary School, Oyo, gathered to celebrate the school’s 2025 End-of-Year Party in grand style.
The event, which was held within the school premises, featured a wide range of entertaining and educative presentations by the pupils. From cultural displays to dramatic performances and dance routines, the occasion showcased the school’s continued commitment to nurturing academic excellence and moral uprightness.
In her opening remarks, the proprietress of the school, Deaconess Ajeniyi Fadeke, expressed deep gratitude to God for seeing the school through a successful 2024/2025 academic session. She described the year as one filled with challenges and growth but emphasized that divine help enabled the school to end the session on a positive note.
She lauded the efforts of the school’s teaching staff, noting that deliberate measures were taken to ensure that pupils received quality education. According to her, “The school authority doggedly made sure that the pupils get the best of knowledge by proper supervision of teachers and that pupils with low level of understanding were given special consideration in their various classes for improvement.”
Deaconess Ajeniyi further used the opportunity to send a heartfelt message to the graduating students, urging them to be true ambassadors of the school. She appealed to all outgoing pupils, particularly those in SS3, to replicate the values, morals, and academic excellence they had acquired during their time at BAMDEK wherever they found themselves.
Turning to the parents, the proprietress gave special appreciation for their unwavering support. She acknowledged the financial and emotional sacrifices they make to ensure their children receive quality education. “They’ve been doing well. They did well. They also came on time today. They spent their money, brought gifts. We want to appreciate them. We pray God will continue to bless them in Jesus’ name,” she stated.
One of the highlights of the day was the school’s vibrant cultural exhibition. Pupils were dressed in the traditional attires of Nigeria’s major ethnic groups, Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa, as they performed native dances and spoke different local dialects. Explaining the concept behind the cultural showcase, Deaconess Ajeniyi said, “The pupils in the school are from various homes, various tribes, and we want to work together in unity. So at the same time, we have to bring the culture together so that they will see themselves as one, just to bring togetherness.”
Parents watched with pride as their children performed on stage, displaying confidence, eloquence, and talent. The joy in the air was palpable, and it reflected the harmonious relationship between the school, its pupils, and their families.
Awards were also presented to outstanding pupils who had distinguished themselves academically across various classes. According to the school management, the awards are part of a broader strategy to encourage hard work, discipline, and a drive for excellence among students.
Reflecting on the school’s legacy, Deaconess Ajeniyi took time to appreciate God for how far the institution has come. She noted that since its founding nearly 25 years ago, BAMDEK School has produced numerous successful alumni who are making significant contributions in their chosen fields around the world. “We bless God for what the Lord has helped us to impart in them. And they are making use of this even in their different careers that they have chosen to make,” she said.
She also celebrated the school’s infrastructural growth, which she attributed to divine provision and the collective commitment of the school community. “We thank God for how far he has helped us for the past almost 25 years ago, thank God for how far he has helped us. Thank God for the massive increase in school infrastructure. Thank God for the land. And thank God for our staff for their incredible job and dedication,” she added.
As the event drew to a close, many parents expressed satisfaction with the day’s programme. They commended the school’s management for organizing such a memorable and meaningful end-of-year celebration that honoured not just academic success, but also cultural identity and unity.
