The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has launched “Operation Power Must Change Hands 2027” campaign in Imo State.

Speaking during the Coalition of Partners Meeting in Owerri, Hon. Chilos Godsent, the National Vice Chairman for South East, declared that the party is set to lead a ballot revolution against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He stressed that ADC would spearhead a political revolution geared towards dismantling what he described as an inept and exploitative government.

He said, “Imo citizenry deserves better than the repression and brutality they’ve endured under the APC-led administration over the past five years. The time for change is now.”

According to him, the convergence was attended by over 300 party faithful, including high-profile decampees from other political parties.

Godsent highlighted that these individuals, pledged allegiance to the ADC as the chosen coalition platform to unseat the APC.

The decampees, however, criticized the Imo State government for impunity and disregard for human rights. They highlighted the state’s worsening economic conditions and rising insecurity, which have been compounded by policies described as oppressive and inhuman.

“This is not governance; it is an affront to democracy and human rights and dignity,” he submitted.

The ADC chieftain re emphasized the party’s commitment to creating conducive environment for businesses to thrive in the state.

The National Vice Chairman, South East extended invitation to all residents who share the vision and mission of a prosperous state to join the ADC in its quest to rescue the citizenry from present quagmire.

“We are ready to restore real hope and dignity to Imolites through the ballot revolution,” he stressed.

The ADC also revealed the formation of four strategic committees to drive its agenda: the Contact and Mobilization Committee, Planning and Strategy Committee, Media and Publicity Committee, and Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee.

These structures, according to him, are critical to ensuring the success of the party’s mission come 2027.

“This is not just a campaign; it is a moving train to reclaim our state through the power of the ballot. We urge every Imolite to join us in this historic endeavor and movement”.
