Nigeria Police Force – Public Notice wanted Persons

The Nigeria Police Force hereby declares Olabode Bello and Michael Chigozie WANTED for violating the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, 2013 – an offense punishable by up to 14 years imprisonment under Nigerian law.
The suspects were arrested on December 12, 2024, in Lagos State and granted bail on January 15, 2025, under strict conditions, including a mandatory weekly report to the police pending their arraignment.
However, both individuals violated their bail terms and have since absconded from Lagos State. All efforts by the authorities to re-arrest and prosecute them have proven abortive.
Information indicates that the duo was last sighted in Owerri, Imo State. Olabode Bello is in his early 30s, of medium build, and of Yoruba descent.
Michael Chigozie is in his late 20s, slim, and of Igbo descent. The Nigeria Police urge anyone with credible information about their whereabouts to report immediately to the nearest police station or call the police emergency hotline.
All information provided will be treated with strict confidentiality.
