FCTA to unveil major infrastructure projects in Tinubu’s anniversary celebration

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is poised to unveil a slew of completed infrastructure projects across the Abuja city center, satellite towns, and rural areas to commemorate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second year in office. This was disclosed by FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, during a press briefing in Abuja on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

Shortly after inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects in the Abuja city center, Minister Wike revealed that the commissioning of the projects will take place over a two-week period, showcasing the magnitude of development achieved so far. “By next week, we will be able to provide all the projects that will be inaugurated during Mr. President’s second year in office,” he stated.

Some of the key projects slated for commissioning include the: Arterial Road N16, connecting Maitama and Katampe districts; 16-kilometer OSEX II to Wasa service carriageway, linking Apo and Wasa districts; Arterial Road N5 from Lifecamp Junction to Ring Road III; enovated International Conference Centre (ICC); Greater Abuja Water project; and Various rural roads

Attributing these achievements to President Tinubu’s exemplary leadership, Minister Wike expressed pride in aligning with the President’s vision, which has brought first-class infrastructure to the FCT. “I’m happy to identify with the leadership of Mr. President, and that is what Nigeria needs. Mr. President has given first-class infrastructure to Abuja. All of you can attest to the fact that indeed, Abuja has really changed, and so we are happy for it,” he said.

The Minister thanked President Tinubu for the opportunity to deliver the dividends of democracy to FCT residents, adding that the Renewed Hope Agenda is working in the FCT. “I don’t see why anybody will say Mr. President has not done well. We are happy that we have fulfilled the promises we have made,” he emphasized.

On the projects inspected, Minister Wike expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the contractor, China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC), on the OSEX II to Wasa carriageway and the Arterial Road N16. He noted the positive reception from residents, especially traders along the OSEX II to Wasa route, and urged residents to take ownership of the infrastructure projects and protect them against vandalism.

Looking ahead, the Minister outlined plans for further development, including: Expanding water provision to satellite towns in Bwari, Karu, and Kubwa; Continuing road construction and rehabilitation within the city; Renovating of schools; and Enhancing security measures

Reiterating the commitment of the FCT Administration to provide necessary infrastructure and ensure their sustainability, Minister Wike emphasized, “Our priority is to improve the quality of life for all FCT residents, and we are dedicated to delivering projects that meet their needs and expectations.”
