Nigeria responds to US tariff measures

The Federal Government of Nigeria has acknowledged the recent tariff measures announced by the US Government, including a 14% tariff on Nigerian exports. In a press statement from the Director of Press and Public Relations FMITI, Dr Thomas Adebayo on Sunday, the US has imposed a 14% tariff on Nigerian exports, prompting Nigeria’s response.
Nigeria is committed to building economic resilience and diversifying exports and the two two countries have reaffirmed their joint commitment to strengthening economic ties, with the US Ambassador visiting Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment on March 26, 2025.
