Ayede Council Boss, Ajayi empowers farmers, aged

The Executive Chairman of Ayede Local Council Development Area, Hon Ajayi Aderemi Samuel, has empowered the aged in the council with cash gifts and farmers with farming implements ahead of the next planting season.
Speaking during the event that took place at the council Secretariat in Ayede Ekiti, the council boss explained that he decided to give the aged cash gifts to ameliorate the effect of the present economic realities in the country.
Ajayi noted that it remains part of his government’s responsibility to take care of the welfare and well-being of the aged and the less privileged with a view to giving them a sense of belonging in society.
Aderemi thanked Ekiti State Governor Mr. Biodun Abayomi for supporting his administration towards delivering the dividends of democracy to his people.
On the empowerment of farmers, the council boss noted that his council area is agrarian and there is a need to motivate and encourage farmers ahead of the next farming seasons by giving them basic farm tools
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chief Folorunso Olabode, lauded the initiative of the council chairman, describing it as a right step in the right direction for a responsive government.
Olabode urged farmers to utilize the next farming season to cultivate both cash and food crops in commercial and substance quantity.
He urged the farmers in the area who wish to embark on large-scale farming to key in into the tractorisation scheme of the Ekiti state government.
Some of the beneficiaries of the largesse commended the council boss for embarking on a program that had an impact on the people and urged him not to relent in his effort to deliver more dividends of democracy.
Farm inputs distributed included
Cutlasses, herbicides
Knap sprayers and protective boots.
The event was attended by notable people in Ayede Ekiti among Oba Mumini Orishagbeni, the Ata of Ayede Ekiti.
