International Women’s Day: Irewolede Chairperson, Bakare Extols The Virtues of Women

The Executive Chairman of Irewolede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs Durpe Bakare has joined the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day, recognizing the strength, resilience, and achievements of women.

Bakare, who led the women of her council area to the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, the venue of the program, appreciated them for their contributions to society.

The event featured representatives from Local Government Areas and LCDAs adorned in traditional attire fabric, symbolizing unity and identity. Each council equally showcased locally produced crops, including rice, beans, and maize, highlighting the unique aspects of this year’s celebration.

Speaking at the event, Her Excellency Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji emphasized the importance of women’s roles in fostering societal growth and sustainability.

She urged women to cultivate house gardens, fostering food security, self-sufficiency, and enhanced nutritional well-being.

The event, held at the Ekiti State Pavilion, marked the conclusion of activities dedicated to recognizing and uplifting women across various sectors. It reaffirmed the critical role women play in community and national development, encouraging continued advocacy for their rights and empowerment.
