A 44-year-old lady, Chukwuaku Cecilia Chikaoibe,, from Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre local government area of Imo state but based in Lago,s, has been declared missing over threat to her life by suspected members of her community for her involvement in the activities of lesbianism.
Cecilia, it was gathered, has gone into hiding after members of her community declared her wanted for being involved in alleged lesbianism.
It was reported that the incident happened in February 2024 at a hotel around Temidre Street Agege Lagos. On that fateful day, Cecilia Chikaoibe and her partner Chizoba had gone to the hotel to indulge in their act of lesbianism but fate ran out of them.
They were caught by the vigilante group and the youth of the community and given a beating of their lives; Cecilia became unconscious as a result of the beating, but when she escaped from the hospital, she was rushed to beat everybody’s imagination.
The youth of her community have threatened to lynch her to death for allegedly being the head lesbian in her community.
According to a reliable source who craved anonymity for fear of being attacked, Cecilia’s three friends, Grace, Chizob, and Chidin, Ma, have been lynched to death by the hoodlums in the community.
The source explained that her friends mentioned her to be the gang leader who’s luring ladies into the act of lesbianism.
On Friday, 7th February 2025 this year, another lady named Chinyere Marcus was caught in the act again with another lesbian friend, and she mentioned Chukwuaku Cecilia Chikaoibe as her mentor. According to her, she was introduced to lesbianism by Cecilia in their secondary school days.
Cecilia has gone missing since February 2024 no one knows her whereabouts. She has been hiding currently as three of her lesbian friends were caught red-handed and they mentioned her name as their gang leader who’s luring ladies
into the act of lesbianism, the source told some reporters.
Speaking further, “Unfortunately, they have lynched her three friends to death, and she has to run for her life.
Also, since then, she has not been seen around for fear of being attacked.
At the moment she can’t go to the police station to seek refuge or report herself because it is against the law of the land.
The law prohibits any form of relationship including “domestic partnerships,” “caring partnerships,” or “adult independent relationships” between two individuals of the same sex. It also punishes any public show of affection, even a kiss, between two people of the same sex, with lengthy prison terms for those convicted of public display of same-sex relationships and people entering into a same-sex marriage. It also imposes up to 14 years of prison term for anyone indulging in it.
The Nigerian government, through the police, can’t give protection since it’s against the country’s law.
Also, in her community presently, she has been declared persona non grata in the community.
If found she will pay dearly with her life.
