REDAN unveils key initiatives to boost housing development in Nigeria

The Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) has announced key initiatives aimed at driving housing development in the country.
The REDAN President, Prince Akintoye Adeoye said the initiative are designed to address the significant housing deficit in Nigeria and promote sustainable and inclusive housing development.
According to Adeoye, the initiatives include increased collaboration with the Federal Government to advocate for policies supporting sustainable and inclusive housing development. This, he explained, will involve working closely with government agencies and stakeholders to develop and implement policies that promote affordable housing, reduce regulatory hurdles, and increase access to finance for housing development.
Also, another initiative is a focus on affordable housing solutions to address Nigeria’s significant housing deficit. Adeoye affirm that REDAN will work with its members and industry stakeholders to develop innovative and affordable housing solutions that meet the needs of low- and middle-income earners.
Furthermore, REDAN will be involved in MOFI Incorporated Real Estate Funds, which will provide financing for housing development projects. This, will help to address the funding gap that has hindered housing development in Nigeria.
The development of Renewed Hopes Housing across the country is another initiative unveiled by REDAN, which involve the development of affordable housing estates in different parts of the country, with a focus on providing quality housing solutions for low- and middle-income earners.
The President emphasized the importance of capacity building and skill development programs for REDAN members. He noted that the association will work with its members to develop their skills and capacity, with a focus on areas such as project management, marketing, and finance.
More so, REDAN will promote professionalism and ethical standards within the industry. He explained that the association will work with its members to promote best practices and ethical standards, with a focus on ensuring that housing development projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The President commended members for their resilience and commitment to the sector in 2024, despite economic headwinds and regulatory hurdles. He noted that the association will continue to work with its members to address the challenges facing the sector and promote sustainable and inclusive housing development.
Looking ahead to 2025, Adeoye expressed confidence in the continued growth and development of the Nigerian real estate sector. He emphasized the critical role of collaboration and innovation in overcoming challenges and achieving sustainable housing solutions for all Nigerians.
