Oyo Global Forum celebrates Alaafin-Elect, Prince Akeem Owoade, calls for unity

The Oyo Global Forum (OGF), a network of Oyo professionals around the world, has congratulated Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade on his selection as the Alaafin-elect of Oyo.

The announcement, made by the Oyo State Government, has been met with optimism and prayers from OGF, which envisions a prosperous and culturally enriched reign under the new monarch.

In a statement released on Friday, OGF described the Alaafin’s throne as a position of immense cultural and historical importance. “For centuries, Oyo has been a shining example of Yoruba-African civilization and culture. This is the rich and enduring legacy Prince Owoade will inherit and defend.”

Oyo Global Forum expressed confidence in Prince Owoade’s ability to promote the values, traditions, and prosperity of the Yoruba people, emphasizing its readiness to collaborate with the Alaafin-elect in advancing progress and inclusive growth in Oyo and Yoruba land in general.

As OGF reflected on the controversies surrounding the selection process, it urged all stakeholders to maintain peace and seek redress through legal channels if aggrieved.

“We appeal to our people to remain peaceful and encourage aggrieved parties to resolve their grievances through the judicial process,” the statement added.

OGF, however, pledged its support for Prince Owoade’s reign and reiterated its commitment to fostering peace and development in Oyo.

The Alaafin-elect’s ascension marks the beginning of a new chapter in the historic kingdom, and all eyes are on Prince Owoade to uphold the legacy of his predecessors while steering Oyo toward greater heights.
