Industry Ministry launches mnisterial service innovation committee

The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI) has officially launched its 26-member Ministerial Service Innovation Committee (MSIC) in Abuja. In a press statement from Dr. Adebayo Thomas, Director of Press and Public Relations, FMITI, on Wednesday, the strategic move is in line with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 2025), which identifies innovation as a crucial pillar for driving economic growth, public sector efficiency, and responsive governance.
The MSIC, according to the statement, is tasked with implementing transformative initiatives that will; Streamlining operations to enhance productivity and efficiency; Develop innovative solutions to improve citizen engagement and experience, and; Foster a culture of innovation to stimulate economic development
The inauguration ceremony, supported by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, highlights the ministry’s commitment to innovation-driven public service. The director of the Reform Coordination and Service Improvement Department, Mr. Naziru Abbas, emphasized the importance of innovation in driving economic growth and responsive governance.
This development marks a significant step towards modernizing Nigeria’s public service and positioning it for future growth and development.
