Presidential, NASS elections: INEC is ready, says Osun REC, Agboke

Ahead of the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly Elections, Standard Times Correspondent visited the office of INEC in Osun State and files in this report.

The long awaited 2023 General Elections will hold in less than 48 hours, precisely, 25th of February.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in OsunState, Dr. Mutiu Agboke said INEC is fully ready for Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly Elections as sensitive materials have already been moved from state’s CBN branch to Local Governments Areas.

The REC disclosed this while fielding questions from Standard Times Correspondent in his office on which measures the commission have put in place for the conduct of the Presidential poll.

Dr. Agboke stressed that sensitive materials have been distributed to Local Governments in the presence of security agents.

“Our sensitive materials, particularly, bullet papers, result sheets are usually in the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. We are ready for the Elections. The electoral body was at the peak of activities and preparations for the conduct of free, fair and credible Elections for the 2023 presidential poll”. 

He also admonished eligible electorates to vote for honesty, integrity and eschew themselves from violence acts capable of nullifying the Elections.
