Quarter-Century Celebration: Ozigis family, friends marks 25 years of unity in FCT

By Goodluck E. Adubazi, Abuja.

The triumphant entry into the new year 2025 came with excitement and joy as family and friends celebrated their quarter-century of togetherness at Bukkies Park and Recreation Center, Katampe, FCT – Abuja, on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Speaking to Standard Times, Pastor Dr. Abel Ozigis said, “The occasion was born out of the Ozigis family’s desire to foster unity and togetherness among family and friends. I had traveled outside Abuja in 2009, and due to the unavailability of some people for scheduled meetings at the time, a family wedding presented an opportunity to initiate this gathering. Today, it marks 25 years of consistent celebration.”

Continuing, he noted, “There are families here who have been part of this occasion for 25 years, others for 15 years, 10 years, and 5 years, respectively. The aim is to bring more families into this circle of happiness.”

The occasion, which began 25 years ago, has been a consistent yearly event, celebrating over 15 families annually. Tributes were paid to departed family members whose legacies continue to inspire the gathering. Pastor Ozigis also expressed gratitude to the families who have consistently associated with them since the inception of the event.
