Interior Ministry reaffirms commitment to internal security, good governance

The Ministry of Interior has reiterated its dedication to maintaining internal security and promoting good governance in Nigeria. According to a press release from the Director of Press and Public Relations, Dr Ozoya Imohimi, over the weekend, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to safeguarding national security and upholding governance standards through effective collaboration with relevant agencies.

During a courtesy visit from the Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, and his team, Dr. Tunji-Ojo stated that the ministry is “poised to drive meaningful change, ensuring efficiency and accountability across all its agencies.”

The Minister commended the BPP for its achievements, emphasizing the importance of self-appraisal in public service. He advised the BPP to leverage technology in procurement processes to ensure seamless, efficient, and accountable operations.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo also highlighted the ministry’s commitment to supporting the nation’s security efforts, citing the importance of providing emergency attention to the security sector. He praised the BPP for its responsiveness to urgent issues and its focus on accountability and transparency.

In a related development, the Ministry of Interior recently signed performance contracts with its agencies, emphasizing its commitment to measurable, results-driven service aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
