CBN sets to redesign N100, N200, N500 and N1000 notes

The CBN Governor , Godwin Emefiele has announced the redesign of new N100, N200, N500 and N1000
Emefiele in a special media briefing monitored by Standard Times Nigeria said the Apex had obtained the approval of obtained the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari to redesign, produce, and circulate new series of banknotes at N100, N200, N500, and N1,000 levels.
He announced that the wew designed notes will be available from 15 December 2022.
He added that the new and existing currencies shall remain legal tender and circulate together until January 31, 2023 when the existing currencies shall seize to be legal tender.
The CBN governor also announced that all bank charges for deposits and withdrawal are abolished with immediate effect and Banks are to work from Monday to Saturday for currency processing and exchange.
