Abia Gov’t is committed to protecting lives, properties of Abians

Abia State government has reaffirmed its commitment in protecting the lives and properties of Abians.

The Governor of Abia state, Dr. Alex otti, reaffirms this commitment during his visit to De Latinos concept at BCA road Umuahia.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Engr Ikechukwu Emetu stated that the new Abia will always protect the lives and properties especially the investors In the state and condemned the damages done to the properties of De Latinos concept and convey his regards to the injured.

Governor Otti commended the Commissioner for Police (Cp) Danladi Isa for keeping a serene environment since the incident and has also arrested his people who perpetrated the unprofessional act.

Gov. Otti assured the CEO of De’ Latinos concept Mr Emmanuel Okenini of maximum support and not to entertain any form of fear stating that the Abia State government does not tolerate miscreants.

Earlier in his statement, the Commissioner for Police, police headquarter Umuahia (CP) Danladi Isa while addressing the press stated that the police are not exempt to law and order, police have code of conduct and that after investigation, there are also administrative actions to be taken.

“As far as I am concerned, I want to have an eagle eye on the crime scene to make sure such thing does not repeat itself and also to put a close circuit on the place to monitor and to be in touch with the management in order to ensure that they have related peace to operate because this is a public place,” CP Isa said.

The CP insisted on not saying anything further until proper investigation is concluded on the matter.

Contributing, the CEO of De’ Latinos concept stated that his bouncer had an altercation with a police officer over refusal by the bouncer to the policeman to bring in “suya” meat bought outside to his premises stating that it is against his company’s rules to bring in things bought outside hence they sell the same things in his Enterprise.

He further said that the policeman name withheld went outside and called other police officers who invaded the area, tear gas everywhere shooting guns and destroying his properties thereby causing a lot of casualties.

“Many customers left without payment as a result of what happened,” Mr Okenini stated.

The CEO further said that the state government and the police are working in synergy to get to the root of it all and also know the cost of all the damages caused during the altercation.
