Niger guber tussle shifts to IDPs camp as Aspirant donate large

An All Progressive Congress(APC) governorship aspirant in Niger state, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi has donated grains and other items to the state Internal Displaced Persons and all party executives worth twenty seven million .

The governorship hopeful  who is the publisher of Blue Print Newspaper, was represented by the Coordinating Secretary, Malagi 2023 Gubernatorial Organization, Barrister Bala Marka.
He said that the food items include 1,750 bags of rice and maize as well as 50 king size oil of 25 litres.

Marka handed over the items to the Niger State Government who was represented by the Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency NSEMA, Alhaji Ibrahim Inga for onward distribution to the Internal Displaced Persons to ameliorate their plight.

Similarly, while presenting the items also to the entire APC executives from ward to state level explained that the gesture was aimed at supporting the party members and to also cushion the effect of the current hardship being experienced by the IDPs in Niger state.

Giving the breakdown of the materials distributed, Marka disclosed that the IDPs got a total of 450 bags of rice, maize and millet of 150 each and 50 Gerry  cans of 25 litres of oil while the All Progressives Congress APC executives got a total of 100 bags for state, 30 bags for the zonal, 250 bags to local councils and 1,370 bags for wards in addition to N1 million for transportation.

Responding, the state APC Chairman, Haliru Zakari Jikantoro thanked the governorship aspirant for always supporting the party and its members as well as the IDPs saying that ‘ one good turn deserves another’, adding that Malagi had earlier donated vehicles and funds to the party in the state.

In his remarks, the NSEMA Director General, Alhaji Ibrahim Inga appreciated the kind gesture from the aspirant noting that this is his second term of extending the humanitarian gesture to the IDPs in the state, assured of doing the needful of the distribution to the real affected people.
