STUDENTS ISSUED ULTIMATUM TO NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT

The National Association of Niger state Students NANISS has given the state government six day ultimatum to respond to it’s demand or face mass students protest.
National President of NANISS Comrade Saliha Buhari gave the ultimatum while addressing a press conference at the IBB Pen House Minna Niger state.
Comrade Saliha Buhari said what the students needed from Niger state government is to declare state of emergency on education secter which has been relegated to the background.
According to her primary school teachers in Niger state have been on strike for the past eleven weeks while alleging that in the last thirty nine months Niger state government only allocated scholarship nine times which are all below twenty million naira for students population of approximately one point two million.
Comrade Saliha Buhari explained that up to now WAEC results of twenty twenty twenty twenty one is yet to be released to the candidates due to failure of Niger state government to pay some pending balance for previous years while that of their colleagues from other states have been released.
She however said during the protest they will ground Nigeria by blocking all major roads leading to the southern Eastern and Northern parts of Nigeria.
