Fresh intakes of Niger Ministry of Work charges on works ethics on official functions

Fresh employees of Niger State Ministry of Works and Infrastructural Development have been taken to an orientation and induction training on ethics while on official functions.

The event featured presentations from various directors and management team members, aiming to integrate new employees into the ministry’s operations.

Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Qs Baba Etsu, who opened the session, outlined the ministry’s public service rules.

Represented by the Director Administration in the Ministry, Alhaji Abdullahi Gambo, the Permanent Secretary, underscored the importance of integrity, trust, and adherence to the oath of secrecy, highlighting the ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

Deputy Director of Civil Engineering Services, Dr. Andrews Adama, provided insights into ongoing projects across 25 LGAs, illustrating the ministry’s role in statewide infrastructure development.

Deputy Director of Public Building Department, Architect Ndako Saba discussed the collaborative efforts within the ministry to achieve optimal results.

He stressed the significance of on-site supervision and punctuality, advising employees to inform their directors of any necessary absences and to focus on delivering quality work.

Acting Director of Quantity Surveying, Surveyor Solomon Baba welcomed the newly employed and encouraged them to develop a passion for their work, emphasizing the department’s dedication to excellence.

Acting Director PRS QS Ashiya Alfa also extended a warm welcome, explaining the department’s functions and motivating employees to be diligent and committed in their roles.

Deputy Director of Quantity Surveying, Q’s Hauwa Audi, highlighted the critical nature of accurate measurements and drawings in quantity surveying.

She discussed the pressures associated with the role and the potential consequences of errors, encouraging continuous learning and the sharing of new ideas within the team.

Information Officer, Mal. Ismaila Saba Favu introduced the information department, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and respect for senior colleagues.

He encouraged new staff to join the ministry’s group chat for seamless communication and assured them of his availability for guidance and support.

The training concluded with an interactive session, allowing new employees to engage directly with directors and the management team, fostering a sense of commitment and open communication within the ministry.

This orientation program underscores the Niger State Government’s commitment to providing effective training for its workforce, aiming to enhance public service delivery and infrastructure development across the state.
