Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Sunday paid a visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, alongside former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi and former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Makinde disclosed the meeting in a post on his verified X account on Sunday, accompanied by photographs from the visit.
According to the governor, the discussions centred on pressing national issues as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election.
He wrote, “Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, in Abeokuta. Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election.”
Makinde also expressed appreciation to the former president for his guidance, saying, “We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history.”
The visit comes amid increasing political consultations and alignments across party lines, as key political figures intensify engagements ahead of the 2027 general election.
