By: Titus Oise, Benin.

The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has endorsed the incumbent governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office ,while warning against Intimidation and rigging during the Osun guber election scheduled for August 15,2026.

‎ ln a well attended press conference addressed yesterday in Benin City by the National Chairman of CRPP, Dr. Samson Isibor, the coalition formally adopted the candidature of Governor Adeleke of Accord Party for the Osun governorship election, while calling on the people to massively vote for him.

According to Isibor, “‎The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has formally adopted the candidature of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Accord for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.After extensive consideration of developments in Osun State, the performance of the present administration and the need to sustain the state’s development trajectory, the CRPP has resolved to support Governor Adeleke for a second term.

‎”Our position is based principally on our assessment that Governor Adeleke has performed creditably well in office and deserves the opportunity to consolidate the achievements of his administration.
‎We accordingly urge the electorate to come out in large numbers, vote for their governor, Adeleke and ensure that their votes are properly counted.

‎Continuing, he said, ” the CRPP is particularly concerned about reports of persistent intimidation, arrest and harassment of members and supporters of the Accord in the build-up to the election.
We therefore call on the Nigeria Police Force and its leadership to immediately put an end to any form of intimidation, harassment or unlawful restriction allegedly targeted at Accord members.

‎”The police must understand that their constitutional responsibility is to protect all citizens and provide a secure environment for every political party and candidate to campaign and participate freely in the electoral process.‎We strongly advise the police against allowing themselves to be used, directly or indirectly, to intimidate members of the Accord or any other political party.Security agencies must remain neutral, professional and impartial.

The Coalition has also strongly warned against any form of rigging during the election. ” We hereby warn against
‎ any attempt to rig, manipulate or otherwise subvert the August 15 governorship election. We also warn against vote buying, voter intimidation, manipulation of electoral materials, falsification of results, interference with the collation process and any other practice capable of undermining the will of the Osun electorate.

‎”The outcome of the election must be determined by the votes legitimately cast by the people. We therefore call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain transparent, impartial and professional throughout the voting, counting, collation and declaration processes. The CRPP calls on all political parties, candidates, supporters and their agents to reject violence before, during and after the election,”CRPP National Chairman posited.
