The National Union of Shop and Distributive Employers NUSDE, Zamfara State Chapter, has convened a one-day capacity-building workshop with a strong resolution to give unwavering support for the rescue mission agenda of Governor Dauda Lawal.
The training was held at Fadama 111 Conference Hall in the premises of the Ministry of Agriculture, Samaru Area of Gusau, the state capital.
Declaring the workshop open, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal, commended the leadership of NUSDE over their creative ingenuity in conducting a huge training programme to give its members an opportunity to expand knowledge and grow strong enough to support the mission of the state.
Represented by Zamfara State Head of Service, Malam Yakubu Sani Haidara, MNI, Governor Dauda Lawal said capacity building is a vital pillar of effective service delivery. In an era of rapid technology advancement and evolving workplace dynamics, every worker must embrace continuous learning, innovation, and adaptability.
Workshops such as this equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to enhance productivity, uphold professional ethics, and contribute meaningfully to organization and nation building.
Last year, we sent 10 female workers to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, for a one-month policy, strategic and leadership course in 2025.
Currently, another team of 7 workers is attending the same course at the said National Institute.
Again, we sponsored a delegation of 10 civil servants to the maiden International Civil Service conference, organized by the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in Abuja in 2025, and in 2026 we sponsored another delegation to the second edition of the conference.
Additionally, 11 workers were sponsored to attend the 32nd Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD conference in Abuja in 2025. The conference brought together civil servants and fellow workers from the private sector across the country who underwent training on various aspects of personnel management.
The Governor concluded by urging all participants at the workshop to pay keen interest in the training and make good use of the material for tangible improvement.
In his words, the Guest Speaker of the workshop, Dr. Biliaminu Tukur, Lecturer, Federal University Gusau, of the Department of Public Relations, stated that the major objective of the training was to strengthen the capacity of the participants, equip them with a modern approach to service, and improve accountability.
He urged them never to dump the lessons received; they should endeavour to train their subordinates with the knowledge so far acquired to sustain an efficient workforce with the ability to enhance unwavering support for the rescue mission agenda of Governor Dauda Lawal.
Present at the workshop were the First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Lawal; the Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce, Hon. Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi; the National President, NUSDE, Comrade Aminu Megbotowon; and Comrade Abubakar Idris, Chairman, NUSDE Zamfara State chapter.
