President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Ogun State, polling a total of 322,485 votes to defeat fellow aspirant Stanley Osifo, who recorded no vote across the state.
Speaking at the state collation and result centre on Saturday, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, who served as the APC presidential primary collation officer, described the outcome as a reflection of the unity and loyalty of party members in the state towards the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
Abiodun disclosed that the APC recorded 343,407 registered voters for the exercise, while 323,164 members were accredited to participate. According to him, the total valid votes cast stood at 322,485.
He explained that the results from the 20 local government areas were presented by the respective returning officers before the final collation and announcement at the state centre.
A breakdown of the results showed that Tinubu secured 26,043 votes in Abeokuta North, 24,948 in Abeokuta South, 14,733 in Obafemi Owode, 39,100 in Ado-Odo/Ota, 11,575 in Ewekoro, 8,343 in Remo North, 19,319 in Sagamu, and 24,207 in Ifo Local Government.
In other councils, the President polled 15,422 votes in Ijebu North, 6,035 in Ijebu North East, 13,410 in Ijebu Ode, 5,951 in Ijebu East, 9,802 in Ikenne, 9,692 in Odogbolu, 20,632 in Ipokia, 9,589 in Imeko-Afon, 16,666 in Odeda, 24,207 in Ogun Waterside, 19,125 in Yewa North, and 20,980 in Yewa South.
Stanley Osifo failed to secure any vote in all the local government areas of the state.
Officially declaring the result, Governor Abiodun said President Tinubu scored 322,485 votes to emerge winner of the Ogun State APC presidential primary election by the authority vested in him by the party’s National Working Committee.
