Former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has described the large turnout of members during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries as a clear indication of the widespread support enjoyed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu within the party.

Speaking with journalists after casting his vote at Itoko Ward 6 in Abeokuta, Amosun said the exercise demonstrated the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the primaries were specifically organised to reaffirm support for President Tinubu and the ruling party, adding that party members across the ward turned out enthusiastically to participate in the process.

“Today is dedicated to our President, and it is important for all party members to come out and openly demonstrate their support for both the President and the APC,” he said.

Amosun expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of members during the exercise, noting that party faithful were united and spoke with one voice in support of Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

“Our people are excited and eager to be part of the process. Everything has been peaceful and organised, which is how it should be. There are no divisions; everyone agrees that the President should continue the work he has started,” he added.

Also speaking after voting at iWard 6, the member representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Afolabi Afuape said the impressive turnout signalled the party’s readiness for victory in the 2027 general elections.

He assured that the ward would deliver one of the highest vote totals for President Tinubu during the polls, pledging continued support for the APC and the President’s re-election bid.
