FC Barcelona Femení delivered a brutal reminder of their dominance by dismantling Real Madrid Femenino 6-2 in a chaotic and one-sided UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final first leg.

From the opening whistle, Barcelona showed intent to embarrass their rivals, racing into a two-goal lead within just 13 minutes through Ewa Pajor and Esmee Brugts, leaving Madrid stunned on home soil at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.

Although Linda Caicedo briefly gave Madrid hope to reduce the deficit, Barcelona responded immediately, with Irene Paredes restoring the two-goal cushion in a fashion that underlined the gulf in quality between both sides.

The second half turned into outright humiliation as Pajor grabbed her second, Vicky Lopez added another, and Madrid’s fragile defence completely collapsed under relentless pressure.

Caicedo managed to score again in a moment of individual brilliance, but it only delayed the inevitable as Alexia Putellas sealed the rout with a late penalty, effectively ending Madrid’s hopes before the second leg.

Barcelona’s dominance becomes even more alarming when viewed in context, they are now unbeaten in 25 matches and have turned encounters with Madrid into routine demolitions, scoring 16 goals against them this season alone.

Even without injured Ballon d’Or star Aitana Bonmatí, Barcelona looked untouchable, with Putellas stepping up as the orchestrator, creating chances and dictating play with authority.

For Madrid, the night exposed familiar weaknesses, defensive fragility, lack of composure, and an inability to cope with elite pressing, all of which Barcelona exploited mercilessly.

With three Clasico clashes scheduled in just nine days, including a league meeting and the return leg, Madrid now face the nightmare of repeated humiliation at the hands of their fiercest rivals.
