The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has donated two Hilux vehicles to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) as part of his administration’s efforts to strengthen collaboration in border management and trade facilitation.
Presenting the vehicles to the Customs Area Controller on Monday at the Government House Birnin Kebbi, Governor Idris said that the donation is part of his administration commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship between the Kebbi State Government and the Nigeria Customs Service, particularly in the area of border trade.
In a statement issued by Comrade Ahmed Idris the chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Government, the Governor explained that the vehicles would ease operational challenges faced by the Customs service and enhance effective service delivery, especially in trade regulation and border control within the state.
“During the opening of the Tsamiya Border stakeholders meeting held on Saturday at the Presidential Lodge Birnin Kebbi, I made a promise to donate two Hilux vehicles and today i am fulfilling that promises. This government does not make a promises and failed” he stated.
He added that the gesture was part of the state government’s resolve to support efficiency and effectiveness in trade related service delivery.
Receiving the Keys of the vehicles onbehalf of the Nigeria Customs Service, Kebbi State command, the Customs Area Controller, Mamudu Ibrahim Mutawalle thanked the Governor for the gesture, and assured him that the vehicles would be used judiciously.
“We deeply appreciate your goodwill and continuous support to the Nigeria Customs Service in the state, we will never disappoint the people of Kebbi State. You are a leader with vision and mission, you have once again fulfilled your promises. May Allah SWT continue to guide you and grant you more wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state” he said.
