Sokoto Gov’t welcomes International Collaboration to combat terrorism

Sokoto State Govt under the leadership of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto confirms Nigerian-US joint airstrike in Tangaza LGA with no civilian casualties reported.

The operation targets terrorist hideouts, part of efforts to curb terrorism and cross-border crimes.

The statement by Director-General media and publicity to the governor Abubakar Bawa said the airstrike occurred in Tangaza LGA, Sokoto North Senatorial District recording no civilian casualties in Jabo village or Tangaza.

The governor therefore urged the residents to cooperate with authorities, provide info to security agencies for lasting peace and as well conduct Prayers for security agencies to defeat criminals.

The Govt on its part welcomes international collaboration to combat terrorism, the reason why it has been supporting security agencies for 2 years, providing equipment.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu then urged residents to cooperate, provide info to security agencies for peace.

The airstrike aims to curb terrorism and cross-border crimes in Sokoto State.
