Viral Video Controversy Uncovered: Secret Cult Targeted Couple, Misleading Public

A video involving Glory Abhuluimen and her husband, Newton Omorogbe, that went viral in February 2023 has now been revealed to be part of a deliberate scheme orchestrated by a secret cult, aimed at tarnishing the couple’s public image.

The footage, which circulated widely across social media platforms and blogs, showed a fisherman smashing a bottle that contained photographs of the couple alongside a handwritten note reading, “Newton can never leave Glory” and “Glory can never leave Newton.”

The imagery sparked widespread speculation, with many suggesting that Glory had used supernatural powers—or “juju”—to control her husband. The viral spread of these claims created confusion and stirred intense public debate, casting Glory in a controversial and negative light.

Further investigations have revealed that the video was not a mere coincidence or prank but a carefully orchestrated attempt by members of the Aiye cult.

Newton Omorogbe, who had been associated with the cult during his university years, had renounced the group after graduation to embrace Christianity.

He reportedly rejected the cult’s violent, secretive, and occult practices, even stepping down from a senior leadership position—a move that was interpreted as a betrayal by the cult’s members.

According to sources close to the investigation, the cult perceived Glory as a threat, believing that she had influenced Newton’s decision to leave.

They staged the video to portray her as wielding dark powers, intending to isolate her socially, spiritually, and publicly. The cult group was trying to destroy the image of the couple.
