Guber Election: YPP’s governorship candidate pledges welfare, security, development for Anambra

The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Chief Paul Chukwuma has assured the people of Nnewi that his administration would place top priority on the welfare of the people, security of lives and property, and all-round development, if elected governor on November 8.
Chief Chukwuma, speaking at a grassroots meeting in Otolo Nnewi, urged the electorate to give their votes to Hon. Oforbuike Okoli-Egbo, the party’s candidate for the August 16 by-election in Anambra South Senatorial district.
He noted that one of the best ways to immortalize the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is to sustain the political platform that brought him to prominence.
According to him, the YPP has people-oriented programmes designed to ensure equitable distribution of democracy dividends across the state.
These, he said, include massive infrastructural renewal, youth empowerment and skills acquisition schemes, support for small and medium enterprises, improved healthcare delivery, modernised agriculture for food security, and enhanced educational facilities.
“Vote for the YPP for the August 16 by-election in Anambra South Senatorial district and November 8 governorship election to demonstrate your love for our late brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah,” he said.
Chief Chukwuma added that Hon. Oforbike Okoli-Egbo, when elected to the Senate, would continue the ideals of the late Senator Ubah, especially in areas of attracting federal projects, championing industrial growth in Nnewi, promoting job creation, and advocating better infrastructure for rural communities.
He emphasised that YPP’s vision is to create an Anambra State where every community benefits from government presence, where security is guaranteed, and where the economy thrives through innovation, enterprise, and fairness.
Hon Okoli-Egbo, while addressing the crowd, said that with him in the Senate, the Nnewi people would be treated according to what he learnt from the late Ubah, who loved them so much.
He said that all he needed now is to be given the mandate to represent them in the Senate through massive voting for him in the August 16 by-election and urged them to repeat the same feat during the governorship election slated for November 8, 2025.
